ok so really all i have to say about this photo shoot is that i was IN TO IT!reason being is: i kept calling the actual model jasmine! hahahaAWESOME!

second to last wedding of 2011brett and britt are fantastico, as i have said before.i am a little mad at them for moving to texas . . .but i guess i will let it slide just this oncei do have to say that there were 4 things about this wedding that i absolutley adored.1. an heirloom watch britt wore that has been passed through 3 generations2. all the crackled mirror vases3. all the cakes were made by britts 14 year old sister!4. a gallery of images up stairs of their engagement and groomal session pinned on strings(it was such a great way to showcase their images and share them with everyone! and i felt a tiny bit special because they had TONS, all of which i shot!)
such a great wedding to be a part of and again, clients that have become my friends!enjoy!

well kjirsten and vinney, they have a special little spot in my heartkjirstens little sister, jana, was my bestest friend growing uphowever there was one little hold up when it came to our friendship. . . jana wouldnt play barbies with meoh but KJIRSTEN wouldi feel like kjirsten is one of my best friends as wellwe taught each other how to spell one anothers name as fast as we couldplayed barbies, played house in the trailer
life was good growing up and i can give credit to jana and kjirsten
now, kjirsten also found an amazing guy. vinny. he has some serious spunk and between the two of them . . . its a lot of laughs!

i started off christmas up at my folks house where all the family gathered.we opened presents and of course had a BIG FEAST. my mom always makes a yummy spread of ham, potatoes, and yummy chips and dip. it was a little chaotic opening presents and trying to keep up with everything since jeremy wasn't there. he was working againbut not for long . . . he showed up with lights and sirens to surprise everyone. it was hilarious because all the neighbors were running out to see what was going on and even paula welcker came out and hollered over to ask if everything was okay.
some exciting news i learned . . . my brother david got engaged!!!(congrats)
jeremy and i hung out for a little bit longer while all my other siblings trailed off
we then headed home to have our own little christmas since we didnt open any presenta in the morning. (lucky for us the kids are little enough it didnt matter to them!)we hung out in our cozy little house and relaxed. opened presents. ate some pizza. took a bath with the new bubbly elephant. and baked some peanut butter temptations. (yum)
and i just have to say... i dont EVER get sick of my christmas decorations. i love them. i love the way it makes my house feel. i dont think i will ever change them!
i hope all of you had a very merry christmas!

this year is . . . simply put, different

maybe its because there aren't snowy covered streets that quiet the night

maybe its because i didnt buy jeremy one thing for christmas

maybe its because i want things one way, but they are another

maybe its because jeremy is not here because he is working

either way i sit here and i think these things while i look out the window and cant help thinking how the things that NEED to matter the most to us this season seem to slip away. i am not sure. but i will say this....

THAT I AM A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS. AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS. I AM TURLY BLESSED TO KNOW THINGS AND HAVE A TESTIMONY OF THINGS THAT BRING ME COMFORT. I AM GRATEFUL THAT I KNOW MY HEAVENLY FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST LIVE AND THAT THEY KNOW OF MY SITUATION DOWN HERE ON EARTH. THEY KNOWS OF MY JOYS. MY SORROWS. MY UPS AND MY DOWNS. THEY STRETCH ME TO GREATER HEIGHTS AND HUMBLES ME WHEN I NEED IT. I KNOW THAT I AM FOREVER IN DEBT TO MY SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST FOR THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE HE GAVE NOT ONLY FOR ME BUT FOR EVERYONE. i havent been up on my blogging skills lately.i dont know if that is because i have a lack of things to blog about,or the worry of the lack of words.i have missed flashback friday the last two weeks because i have wanted to post pictures of my aunt . . . my aunt terrie that passed away last week.i attended her funeral which was so hard.not only because she was gone, but to see people that i know and care about in pain.she is no longer in pain and in a better place.i have had continual nights of prayers dedicated to her familyi have also had nights where tears continually stream down my face.i wasnt best friends with terrie. nor was i one to go over to her house for visits during the last few months of her life. but i do know that i loved her. she was my aunt. my family.and i will always remember her smile.she was and still is beautiful.rest in peace terrie.

to lighten the way i feel about this post i am sharing some amazing pictures of my beautiful boys that i am so blessed to have in my life. i hope that i can be the type of mom to my kids as terrie was to hersshe made such a remarkable influence on them and left them with a beautiful memory.

those of you that stop by often will notice that i have processed this pictures a little differently then i normally do . . . well, i normally dont do much. i shoot for nailing it in camera and then make minor adjustments. with rachels shoot, i decided to work with some toning for two reasons. 1) because i wanted to. and 2) because she is gorgeous and it doesnt matter what i do to the pictures she is AMAZING!
so with that being said I would love to know what you all think of the post processing.some of them i love. some of them, i am not so fond of.

the first monday of every month we do meatballs.

now, some will be experimental. some will be classic favorites.

all i do know, is that i hope it lasts a LONG time and is something my family can call a tradition.

i have shot this event for four years in a row now and i think it just gets more and more insane!i have said it before and i will say it again . . .black friday is INSANE!

thanksgiving table and pies

really excited about how my thanksgiving table turned out.yes yes, it was the first thing that i pinned to pinterest that i ACTUALLY did!that is the cans and bottles all painted the same color. i love how it went with my gold chargers!
and i have to say cooking thanksgiving dinner was SO FUN and SO MUCH WORK!i had no idea. it was a great learning experience. i got everything out and tasting delish . . . except the turkey. that little lady decided she needed to stay in the oven an additional hour and a half! but like i said, lots of learning! even though she took longer then i thought, my maple glazed turkey was SO GOOD!i did EVERYTHING from scratch/homemade!pumpkin pies (including crust), pear pies, turkey, cornbread stuffing, rolls, green beans, buttermilk mashed potatoes and gravy!
and with that being said...thank you mom and phyllis for all the dinners you have slaved over on my behalf!i appreciate you so much more after yesterday!

senior year was a little bit of a whirlwind for me. as i was talking with sammy the other day i remembered how big of a slacker i turned into that whole year. . . you know how people always say they wish they could go back to high school because of how fun it was. i just think that if i could do any of it over, i would redo my senior year and bust my chops to get a 4.0 and full ride scholarship. no really though. i still graduated with a 3.67, but i could have done better!

i am a little proud to say that i have started a tradition! not bbq and fireworks, those have been around forever! but the fact that for the 24th celebration we go down to mapleton cities firework for the celebration was my idea. jer has to work that holiday every year, so why not go to him? and besides the show there is FREAKIN AWESOME! the bbq was great this year too, thanks to my parents for hosting it at their house! all the grandkids had a blast, as always!shot july 23, 2011

i cant believe that i never blogged these! well, i can believe it because i was so busy. . . but now i am just mad at myself that i didn't do it sooner! when i took these i just kept thinking, i cant believe i am here all over again. at the beginning again. tiny diapers, mobile, changing table, late nights, fury faces. it was crazy, but so exciting! cashs neediness wasn't exciting though! those are a couple of shots i got of him where he just wanted my attention. he was only like this for about a week and a half, which i thought was awesome! and oh how handsome was judah!shot april 9, 2011

6 + 2 = happiness

6 years and 2 kids later . . . we are one happy family! we decided to head up to strawberry for some fishing with the family during the day. it was a long trip just for a few hours, but oh so worth it! especially because jer and cash love fishing so much! the fall weather is also my FAVORITA, however its not great for kiddos. so after a while down at the waters edge, i packed up the kids and headed to the car where we hung out for about the last half hour. we got lots of funny phone shots! some of judahs face are priceless!

later that evening we had sam the AMAZING babysitter come over so we could go out. we went and got sushi, our favorite, and then headed over for some bowling. i thought i was going to kick jers butt because my first bowl . . . a strike. but then i sucked it up after that and jer ended up kicking my butt.

it was a great day and i am so grateful for the little group of people i get to be a part of!

where my heart is

this is a whole bunch of rambling, so excuse me.

some of you may be wondering about all my talk of moving to idaho. well, it isnt so, we are here . . . yet, you know, many people have a dream and work really hard to achieve that dream. eventually they get there. they make it. they live that dream.

but what if one has more then just one dream . . . and would prefer to live the other dream after living the first one for a while?

that is me.

i have an amazing family. a husband who has a great job. a business i worked so hard to build. i have a beautiful house. i am so blessed. and i am living one of my dreams . . . yet, idaho calls.

the fact of the matter is, we found a plain and simple little house on 2.5 acres on a dry river bed and no lie my eyes filled with tears when we walked in the back of the house. that house, with my boys, is my second dream. why, you might wonder? because i am not one that likes to run and keep up with the jones even though sometimes i feel like i get caught up in it at times. i have an amazing house, but would rather not. i would rather have yard, trees, and grass for my kids to run free in. i would rather have fresh air to breathe. and i would rather live with no pressure. the simple life in gods country is what i want. and of course a lot of this comes from my river guiding days and the cleansing that brought to my soul every time i went out.

i also love the idea of a new challenge. building my business back up in a new location. maybe being a fishing guide . . . oh the ideas are endless and exciting.

the thing that is frustrating is i don't know if it would ever happen. our house is for sale but by the time it sells, the property will be gone. so . . . why do i get fixated on one thing? why aren't there other options in idaho? there are, just different from this "vision" for now. the other thing is what we have here and what would be missed, such as good friends and family.

it is like being pulled in two different directions and having to find that direction of where to go.

while this has been on my mind i had to blog about it before i got home and back into the routine of my utah life. which, is a good life. a life i am happy with! a life i can live forever if needs be! until then. . . .
